Community Events

Community Events Noticeboard

Highlighting community events is a way in which we can assist people to connect with the community. Through this connection, people can share experiences, offer support and provide information for services that are available. Some of these are national events held across Australia, while others are events being held in the local community.

These events allow many community organisations to showcase their services, show how they are making a difference in the community and highlight awareness campaigns for those they help.

This is also a unique opportunity for people who are thinking about volunteering to find out more information on organisations who use volunteers in their services.

Dementia Action Week

Discrimination experienced by people living with dementia, their families and carers will be the focus of this year’s National Dementia Action Week, 16-22 September.

Dementia will impact most of us throughout our lives in one way or another, and it is time to bring that conversation to the forefront and acknowledge the impact dementia has on those living with the disease, their families and carers and across the community. For more information, go to Dementia Action Week
