Christine Greive- completed 25 years of service with Flexible Living this year.
Another wonder woman with a golden heart. Since March 1995, Christine has been volunteering providing support to elderly at Hillcrest centre based program.
In Christine’s words-
“I love volunteering and I have enjoyed every moment, I volunteered at Flexible Living. I love helping our clients and working beside the wonderful people at the centre. It gives me a meaning to my life.”
Christine started volunteering as a Bus offsider, helping the clients and driver on the bus runs for many years. Then moved to the kitchen helping kitchen Coordinator with the meal preparation. Christine became very famous for her baking, especially her cakes. Christine loved to do the Christmas cakes for the clients, staff and volunteers every year. For many years Christine also helped in collecting donations and items from many retailers for Volunteer Christmas Auctions. Almost half of the items from the Auction gifts were collected by Christine every year. Since last 5 years Christine is helping clients directly on the floor and still helps collecting donations for clients’ raffle prizes.
With a continuous health deterioration, Christine is not able to do everything what she used to do but she still likes to keep going and help wherever she can.
